Christmas made special by volunteers and donations. Members shared some time together preparing for the Boys and Girls Club of Falls County Christmas party 2008. Members of "Girl Grooves" and their sponsor Erica Lopez prepare a modest feast fr members to share. Thanks to the generosity of community members, Caritos, and the Capital Area Food Bank, members received small gifts for the season. Members of the club became graduates of the "Smart Moves" program. This program is designed to assist members on how to develop leadership skills and promote a positive life style, avoiding drugs, alcohol, how to handle peer pressure and the facts about STD's and premature sex. "Smart Moves" is being implemented by TEXSYN the Texas State Youth Network and the Texas Alliance for Juvenile Delinquency Prevention. In 2008 there were only a hand full Boys and Girls Clubs selected to participate as pilot sites and now the TEXSYN Program extends to over 500 club sites.
